Yo, I have had this for a while now...2-3 years (now Aug 2011) and I think t is a awsome product. It works by breaking up the sgnal into 100 foot sections (from what I understand) and when you are in the last 100 feet (the nearest 100 ft section) you are detectable, but the warning you get is FINOMINAL!! I have only recieved 1 ticket since my purchase and that was because the stereo was to loud to hear the detection alert. The display is bright, but it was a bright day. The scramble feature can be activated or deactivated by holding a button while turning the unit on (same process for turning the feature off). It comes deactivated thus it isn't illegal to ship (I believe) to Canada or other places where it is a restricted piece of equiptment. I have the KAT600 as well. BOTH ARE KILLER, but the Kat has NO VOICE ALLERT. Eyeing up the newer models. I was skeptical about the product, BUT NOT ANYMORE!!
I LOVE IT!! I give it 3 thumbs up!!
