The VM1 Video Matrix works with a multiroom audio system to distribute High Definition component video. Video signals can be routed to as many as eight zones, each using a single CAT-5e cable, to locations up to 300 away.

Capable of handling up to 1080p High Definition component video, the VM1 provides seamless integration with Russound CAM, CAV and CAA66 controller amplifiers through RNET. The VM1 can also be integrated with other distributed audio or third-party control systems using RS-232 command protocol through either DB9 or USB connections.

The Video Matrix selects video sources (Satellite, DVD, etc.) for specific zones through commands from a distributed audio or control system. This allows the component video signals to be distributed while audio signals are transmitted through the multiroom audio system. Active video circuitry prevents signal loss and interference, enabling longer cable runs making it a real-world solution.

Format Up-conversion
Optional for the VM1 is a format up-converter for converting composite and S-video signals to component video. Four-zone, four-source models offer up-conversion for two sources, while eight-zone, eight-source models offer up-conversion for as many as four sources.

All configurations of the Video Matrix include the appropriate number of VMR1 single-gang Decora receivers, which decode the signal back to RGB analog component video output.
